The Strangers and their friends managed to close the portal the Zecharrím were using to bring troops into Vanadir. Along the way, they met up with a dwimmerslave who seemed larger and more powerful than Jorlak Blain. While the Strangers managed to seal the portal, they also failed to prevent the dwimmerslave and his troops from sending "the stone" -- whatever that might be -- through the portal. It's possible that Pip may have been able to disrupt the portal but we do not know for sure if he was successful. Whatever "the stone" is, let's hope it doesn't return to haunt our heroes later.
And I'm sure the bloodbanes waiting at the other end of the portal were probably nothing to worry about.
But now, the small but vaunted band has returned to Taer Mithéngol. They must gather themselves for the journey ahead. A journey like none they have ever embarked upon before. Soon, they must travel to the Plane of Elemental Fire to retrieve the second piece of the Rod of Seven Parts. Flames, creatures beyond their ken, riches beyond count, and an unkown doom await them.
Surely there's time for a good meal first.
